About Me

berries.jpg

About me...where do I begin?  I was iborn in 1977 in Zanesville, Ohio.  I grew up in and around small towns in Guernsey County.  I moved to Columbus, the state capitol, when I was a teenager.  I lived in Columbus until I graduated from Ohio State in December 2002.  I now live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I got my Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources with a concentration in Wildlife Management in December 2002 from The Ohio State University.  I recently graduated from Louisiana State with a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences with concentrations in Wetland Science and Management and Environmental Planning and Management. I am currently employed as a Coastal Resources Scientist with the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources where I work on oil spill assessment and restoration.

Wes and I have been a couple since October 1994, just over twelve years now.  We got married in September 2001 and spent our honeymoon at a chalet in the Smoky Mountains.   Wes is a photographer and owner of a portrait photography business in Baton Rouge called Fine Light Studios, LLC.

I enjoy camping and hiking and just about anything to do with the great outdoors.  I love wildlife and animals in general and always have.  I like to read, sew, and quilt when I have the time.  Wes and I currently have three cats, Gracie, Runty, and Albert, that we love like they're our children.  We had four until recently when we lost Karma to lymphoma and before that we lost Sage to feline leukemia.
